SUMMER AT HANAHAU‘OLI
June 12-July 23, 2008

Our summer school doors opened on Thursday, June 12 to 230 eager students. We are fully in the swing of things, with everyone having a fantastic time!

Some important reminders for all who drop off and pick up:
To keep everyone safe (including our parents!), we ask you to please avoid getting out of your car. Teachers on duty will assist your child out of or into your car and help to buckle up if necessary. We would also like to remind all drivers that the drop off and pick up areas are "cell-free zones". Finally, please be sure NOT to back up traffic by waiting to turn left into our driveway. If there is a line, you must travel further up Makiki Heights Drive, turn around, and queue up in the line turning right into the driveway.

After School Care Excursions:
Please let the ASC staff know by Tuesday of each week if your child will not be participating in the Thursday excursions. Note, however, the movie is not an optional event and children must be picked up if they will not be attending (see below).
Thurs, June 19, 2:15-4:15pm: Hawaii Nature Center Hike

Thurs, July 3, 2:15-4:00pm: In-School Video
Thurs, July 10, 1:15-3:45pm: Makiki Pool

Thurs, July 19, TBA: Movie Theatre or Video at school
Wear summer school t-shirt. NOTE: If we do go to the theatre, ALL children must participate or be picked up prior to our departure from campus (there will be no ASC staff on duty that afternoon at school). More information will be provided closer to July 19.

Our summer program offers opportunities for children to explore interests and discover new talents while extending and practicing basic skills. Classes are designed to reflect Hanahau`oli's integrated thematic teaching style, incorporating experiences in language, math, science, social studies and the arts in a context that is meaningful and motivating to children. Enrollment is offered to children entering Pre-Kindergarten through the Fifth Grade.
